I hooked this art piece from our "Rosy on the Screen Door" pattern. Every summer here in Maine I am greeted at least one morning by one of these beautiful moths lingering on the screen doors here at the Parris House.

This piece is made from wools I hand dyed to match the colors of the Rosy Maple moth, with Indian sari silk woven is for additional texture within the moth's wings, the background, and as the hand whip stitched binding. Amethyst beads and pink glass beads are hand sewn on to the piece as well for a little extra light catching. The antennae are roving stuffed applique with embroidered fly stitching on top.

This would be a wonderful addition to many decor styles, especially for those with a love of nature.
